Shannon Newton, MS, LPC-S

Shannon holds a Master's of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy and Community Counseling from John Brown University and has been a professional counselor for more than thirteen years. Shannon is trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Trauma-Informed Care, Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), MultiSystemic Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Resource Focused Therapy and is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).
Shannon’s clinical experience includes working with teens and their families as an in-home family therapist, as well as non-profit leadership and program development. For the past nine years, Shannon has worked in private practice settings where she supports individuals, couples, and families navigating a wide variety of difficulties. Some presenting issues Shannon works with include (but are not limited to): anxiety, depression, abuse, trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), grief, relational or family conflict, addiction, and chronic medical conditions. Her own journey of healing and restoration through counseling deeply impacts her own work and allows her to come alongside her clients in a way that fosters openness and hope.
In addition to her work with clients, Shannon loves teaching, training, speaking, and mentoring others, and is a board-approved Supervisor for Licensed Associate Counselors in the state of Arkansas.
