“When three of Job’s friends heard of the tragedy he had suffered, they got together and traveled from their homes to comfort him. When they saw him from a distance, his grief was so great that they hardly recognized him. They wailed loudly, tore their robes, and threw dust over their heads to share his pain. Then they sat on the ground with him for seven days and nights. No one said a word for they saw that his suffering was too great for words. Finally, Job spoke and cursed his birth and questioned God in his confusion. In response, his friends, trying to explain his tragedy, offered their judgment on his guilt and wrongdoings. Job responded, “If only someone would listen to me.”

We can encounter this gap through traumatic experiences, church trauma, spiritual injuries, and major life transitions. These places can create doubt, fear, and confusion and disrupt our connection to God and ourselves.

Our pastoral team is specially trained in trauma-informed practices and models of care to create safe environments to facilitate healing, build family and personal spiritual rhythms, and walk-in wholeness through life transitions. This specialized team are not licensed counselors, but instead are trained by our therapists in giving trauma-informed care.
